Alma finished her bachelor’s degree in social science from University of Puerto Rico in 1987 and her masters in Marriage and Family therapy from Phoenix University Puerto Rico Campus. Before becoming a Mental Health counselor, she worked in the community at Punta Santiago, Puerto Rico with the young population both as a teacher and in programs to help them learn life skills to help them develop healthy lifestyles.
Later she worked in El Salvador as a missionary volunteer in the summer of 1988, helping the community learn coping skills to manage the trauma of the civil war. Since June of 2007 Alma has been working in Massachusetts with clients from 6 to 90 years-old. She helps them learn to live their life in a healthy manner by improving the quality of their relationships in their personal and work lives. This include children, adolescents, young adults, and adults – married or single, living alone or in a family setting.
She has vast experience working with individuals and families using a variety of techniques to help them learn to manage their lives in a healthy manner and improve their way of life. Alma is a very compassionate, spiritual and energized therapist with the desire to assist people to improve their lives.
